Boston Red Sox Vs. New York Yankees

About four weeks ago (I told you I was slightly behind), after a fairly heavy Saturday night out which involved getting chatted up by a guy (I didn't realise at the time, I thought he was just being nice) and after saying that I was gonna go see the Red Sox play (cause I am addicted to baseball now) I looked on the Red Sox webite and saw that the only home games they had left was against the Yankees…like there’s any chance I’m goona get tickets for that….yeah, well I did! (otherwise this'd be a pretty pointless entrĂ©e). And, yes, that ticket does say "GAME 79"

I headed up to Boston the following Friday, 1st October (as in, the day of the game). using Boston train's, (which are A LOT cheaper then Amtrak, but only covers Massachusetts and the surrounding areas). I headed off from Providence.

As I was up there, I thought I'd have a little look round the city, why not, it's a lot bigger than Providence.

I loved it, Harely-Davidson store with a Teddy Bear Factory above it

I also crossed another Hard Rock Cafe off the list, which means more to add to the magnet wall (back in our kitchen at THC). Although I couldn't drink in there.......first American to turn down my English Driving licence for ID ever!!! But, Lee, you're pleased to hear, my drunken purchase back in London's Hard Rock (from about this time two years ago), finally paid off as my lunch was free, and I got my magnet for free too...So my point of this is: Vote "YES" to buying things when drunk, stupid and well over-keen, you never know when and where you'll benefit.

Also I ventured down to the Samuel Adams brewery for a free tour. I didn't bother with the tour, cause I’d’ve had to wait for a long while, and ‘ironically’ I didn’t wanna miss any of the baseball! But I did make the most of the free beer...cause that's what I do!

After that, I headed down to a very wet Fenway Park.....I did have to wait until 10:30 for them to say that the game was called off and rescheduled for the following day, but it did give me a chance to take my own tour around the stadium...kinda very old! It did kinda remind me of our beloved Dell. Now this is meant to be a heated rivalry, but they have Yankees fanswalking round and sat next to and in with Red Sox fans....why couldn't they do that for Saints Vs. Skates earlier on this year!?

Only in America...right outside the Stadium, sadly I could only afford to buy two

The view from"my seat"

Bar right at the top of the stadium...

...so I had to have one...$8 beer...Yeeeahhhhh

There was a moment of hope.....

Dunkin' Donuts even in Fenway...oh how I miss New England!
Had to show my support

I found Boston pretty much like London in regards to getting around the city and once I found a map of the "T" (Boston's equivalent to the underground) it was pretty easy getting around the city, and cheap ($9 for a day ticket (and that's for 24 hours, and not just 'that day')).

After a bit of debate (with myself), I did head back to Boston the next day, to watch the first game in the original Cheers bar, next to some crazy annoying Mets fan. Before getting back into Fenway Park to see only three innings. Annoyingly I had to get the last train home, but I did get back to the Hot Club, Providence in time to watch the Red Sox win 7-6...at about 1 in the morning...love it!

A half assed 'funky chicken'

Do you remember back in PE when you were fielding in rounders  out as far
this guy, and all you could think is "what's the point!?"

To any English watching this, I know this just looks like a guy running, but it seriously is an addictive sport to watch
