Nitro Tetrus

Well the day after my last post I did actually get my ass into gear and I did get myself down to the Australian immigration office in Brisbane, and after queuing four times, and paying $290 I managed to get a Tourist visa approved for myself, valid for 3 months. Which was lucky really seeing as (I think) I only had 2 days left before I had to leave the country (immigration were "very clear" with the rules, but couldn't give my dates....."oh no we cannot do that"). So yes I did go out and celebrate that night, and on the way home meet up with some Indigenous in Musgrave Park.

Apart from seeing this guy....

He came back again the other day too
....the rest of the week pretty much involved putting a lot of blood, sweat, tears and swearing (plenty of swearing) into killer costumes for Sunday night's fancy dress at the Rumpus Room....

Not a bad spot to be working on them....

The work did pay off....in the end!!!!

We actually had to Tetrus our Tetrus pieces into a Maxi-Taxi

Sad times

The night finished with the same two survivors as always...whoop whoop. Sunday nights in The Family.... exciting!
....And we actually won! We arrived and got cheered! Good times. Our prize was having our names on the door at The Mustang Bar in The Valley for a Hip-Hop gig hosted by Hydrofunk Records, which we attended last Saturday. Sweet times. But that wasn't before Audie, Rosie and I took our suits out for another spin around West End the next day....so many pictures taken! And even the guy driving that we stopped on a zebra crossing still saw the funny side of it....I think!

Someone at Hydrofunk last Saturday....I dunno it was free, not $30. We worked for them tickets, we didn't pay....more earned.
The Friday before the Hip-Hop gig, Rosie and I headed to Nitro Circus at Brisbane's Entertainment Centre. It was a bit of a circus (as the name will state) but it was sweet to see some awesome skateboarders,FMXers and of course BMXers again...it's been a long while!

It went on for ages prior to this video...awesome!

The weekend also consisted of another fancy dress. It was Terry's (the same Terry I was with when I broke my hand) 30th the week before, so his girlfriend, Amber threw a Latino party together for him.....this time our Mexican Gangsta costumes only cost us $5 each, not $60 each.

Dom and Don...or....Don and Dom....or....D1 and D2.....

Not a great picture, but it was a great view of Brisbane CBD (right) and Kangaroo Point (left) from the 34th floor of the Skyline apartments.

Planking is sooooo 2011

Happy 30th Terry

Amber and I really aint good friends....really!

The weeeeee hours of Monday morning
Thursday was a day of body boarding (that's right, in Queensland you can still go to the beach in Autumn). And Saturday was a drive to Main Range National Park (only discovered by myself that Friday night (well actually it was 2am Saturday morning and we were tryna find something to do for Saturday)). And when we arrived we decided that we would do the 'Mount Cordeaux' walk...and once we got to the top of that we decided to carry on walking the 'Bare Rock' walk

On route to Main Range

Yes we did climb the rest of the way to the peak of Mount Cordeaux

And the view from Bare Rock

This is where we ate lunch on Saturday - better than Friday were I ate my lunch really quickly next to a bin in Brisbane's Myer Centre

On the way back from Bare Rock we came across these 6 Eagles

Maybe it's best I don't say what's going on here

...And on route home

We did however come across these on the way home....

... Curiosity (or boredom) will always get the better of us!

Saturday finished with a night of bowling and Laser Quest......do you remember that!?!?!

I also wanna put this up as I haven't done it yet, but this is the house I'm currently living in (for the last 2 months) with Rosie and Sacha in Kangaroo Point (it's the bottom house, on the left):

And the view from across the road of the front door as the sun sets over Brisbane's Botanic Gardens:

Just a quick update on me, as I've finally been making progress, I've been spending a lot of my "nothing" time applying for jobs on all of New Zealand's mountain resorts, and even more jobs in Queenstown (today has pretty much involved a run, a lunch, New Zealand Job Hunting, and writing this). I have my first ever Skype interview on Wednesday morning, should be interesting. And on Friday I finally booked my Australian travel things. I've booked my travel from Brisbane to Darwin on 6th June, then I'm taking a tour from Darwin to Alice Springs, fly from Alice Springs to Adelaide, then a few days later fly from Adelaide to Hobart, where I will take a week long tour of Tasmania, before flying onto Melbourne to meet up with Nat and her friends in St Kilda. That's as far as I've booked but I plan to head back from Melbourne to Brisbane at the beginning of July, stay here for the State of Origin (my tickets arrived the other week), one last weekend in Brisbane, then fly form here to New Zealand around 10th July (about 7 weeks from now).....exciting and nervy.

And that's it for now......just wanna make the most of my last two weeks in Brisbane before I leave this fine place!
