Car Surfing is gonna be bigger than planking

Nice short work week was had by all, what with Wednesday being a bank holiday. Gave me an awesome excuse to finally get up the Kangaroo Point cliffs which are about three minutes away from my house. BBQ and bare foot climbing always seems more fun than working!

After working both jobs on Friday, and after a few drinks Friday ended up being a long one. I just wanna put this photo up to show that we did at least once have some speakers in this house!

There goes my German lessons!

I only discovered that we had this fluffier on Friday, thanks for breaking that one Rosie!
Saturday was a bit of a write off, but today Dan and I headed South to check out a tree top walk over some rain forests  The walkway wasn't too great, but the birds and views were, and the invention of mountain car surfing! Always a good way to pass a Sunday!

On the drive up!

This photo lead to Mountain Car Surfing being invented! I will get the video off of Dan!

This one was on my shoulder when I took this photo

On the downhill climb!
I'll admit this probably isn't my best written post, but I just wanted to get my pictures up here really. Work's going pretty well, after spending the last two months deciding what I wanna do, I've finally decided that I'm gonna take them up on their offer and tomorrow I will start my application for my 457 sponsored visa, allowing me to stay in Australia a lot longer (without the need to do any farm work)....that's right, Australia's crying out for me!!!

I'm still the poker king!

Sorry it's been a while since I wrote on my blog! Not been too much to write home about, plus I've been busy busy busy. So I suppose a run down of the last 3 weeks.

Three weeks ago I headed over to Russell Island for a house party with Rosie. Had a chill out BBQ with a round of football golf (weird shaped footballs, may I add!), then a round of Drinking games. There is a few photos, but in the interest of keeping my blog PG there isn't too many that I'd put on here:

This was taken from the Russell Island ferry terminal just as we were about to head back to the mainland
OK, two weeks ago, Dan and I headed back to the Glass House Mountains, this time to climb Mount Beerburrum (280m). It wasn't as fun as Mount Ngungun (253m), but it was steep and gave some more awesome views (and a fun run down too). We then headed to Bribie Island again, but I don't think we'll be doing that too often.

Bribie Island
The Monday after that we had Bridget come and stay with us for her last night in Australia. We found out that she had never had Kangaroo, and figured that she wasn't allowed to leave before trying some skippy so we headed down to South Bank for another barbie! We then headed up to Mount Coot-tha to see the views of Brisbane at night. We meet Bridget whilst we were on our boat trip in the Whitsundays, the only person I've meet from Washington who has heard of Duvall, and it turns out when she went to England in 2004 she was at the same Red Hot Chili Peppers gig as me in Hyde Park, proper small world! Enjoy your time back in gray Seattle before heading back to California!

Pig and Kangaroo in a bun...how many of you have ever had that combo!

Last weekend I headed to the Gabba again with Rosie and Audie. The Brisbane Lions lost again, but it was another close game, the Lions were up 105-104 against the Adelaide Crows, before the Crows scored a goal  right at the end to win it 110-105 (just so you know, you get 6 points for a goal in the AFL). Fun stuff. Good to see that the Brisbane Lions beat the Gold Cost Suns last night!

Wednesday was a big poker event round one of Dan's friend's houses. I haven't played poker in a long while, but at $20 buy-ins and winner takes all, I was well up for it. Now I'll admit, winning isn't the best way to make new friends, but walking out $120 richer helps the sting!

The weekend just passed, apart from Saints going top of the Championship table, I headed to Audie's house warming last night. And today I headed to Drum Scene Live, as Rosie was working the set up I got to enjoy some awesome live drumming. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me (as it was a spur of the moment decision), but ending with all three drummers playing together was pretty epic!

So anyway, Wednesday is a bank holiday (cos of some Brisbane festival or something!?) so a nice short week ahead. Looking forward to that one.

I'm not gonna voice my opinion on the pointless riots back home, but I was relieved to hear that Southampton had nothing to do with, glad all at home are OK. I would like to say though that it isn't a fair representation of England.

And happy third birthday to Ethan today.
