Why can I never get the jobs at the Strip Clubs!?

Hay Hay Hay Peeps, hope all are well wherever you may be in the world, and whomever you may be there with. I just wanted to do a catch up on here before I got nagged for not putting anything up here...but I was too slow there! Sorry Nan, but when I'm stationary it's hard to write in here as regularly as when I'm travelling and doing new exciting stuff on a daily basis.

So as mentioned in my last post, I didn't get that job that I was writing about, apparently I "gave a bit of a negative response when (I) realised that it was door-to-door sales"....dam really, I tried to hide that.

Life definitely goes on!

Since then though, I have started working for a company that buys computers from Government buildings, banks, etc. from all-over Australia, and then sells them on. So my job is to basically book in equipment, check over it, wipe the hard drives, move it on...that's it. I knew it would suck before I started it, I just wanted money, and I was right, it does suck. I tried to fix a broken PC the other day, and got told off for wasting time, it's all about speed/numbers at that place, but I wanna fix it if it's broken! However, with my job I did get the opportunity to work in the Suncorp Buildings again, a couple of Fridays ago, the same buildings that I was in 3 years ago, disconnecting PCs, so that they can be moved to new desks, so that we can reconnected them again...I know, fun right. But this time it was at night....ooooohhhh. Looking over Brisbane's night sky! Started at 3 on a Friday afternoon, and finished at 2:30 on a Saturday morning.

My current work is currently in Murarrie, which is a suburb about 11-12km away from here, to the east of here actually. So as much as I enjoy the ride I have the sun in my eyes nearly the whole way there, and I really really have the sun in my eyes on the way home.

My rusty (but free) bike

My original (WW2) helmet from Dandy...
...but she got concerned about my lack of vision, and so gave me a new helmet with some modifications...

I also had an interview, at Honey B's last Wednesday night, to do bar work in a strip club, the same company that own Love and Rocket (where I had an interview last time when I arrived in Brisbane), but I'm still waiting to here back from them, so that probably isn't a good sign. Over the last couple of weeks I've had a couple of successful interviews, until the issue of not being able to drive came up, jobs sounded good too. But earlier today I had an interview with a company that are a "leading integrator of payment and information solutions and related services for intelligent travel applications. They deliver integrated systems for transportation and traffic management, delivering tools for travelers to choose the smartest and easiest way to travel and pay for their journeys, and enabling transportation authorities and agencies to manage demand across the entire transportation network – all in real-time." (in Brisbane terms they do the Go-Card (Brisbane's equivalent to the Oyster Card for any Londoners)), as a Workshop Technician, in short I will be fault finding and fixing things to an component level, most of these things being electronics. It's a 6 month contract, so I'm hoping to get that, I find out about that tomorrow, kinda hoping for positive news on that one. I feel my aim (with my current job) is to quit before they "have to let me go".

That's the working side of thing....on the food side of things though, aside from having a few more Kangaroo burgers, I did discover these in Coles the other week:

Jeff and I have even had more tonight.

Out of the work and food activities. I have finished that website for that Music Store, but I need to speak with the manager to get her views on it, I've been needing to do that for over a week now. I was in a recording studio the other week, helping Rosie get some voices down to help her with her uni work again. On the weekend just passed we went down to Coolangatta to try and enjoy a day on the beach, we had a tyre blow out on route down, it didn't stop us, but it did slow us down. Open Mic Nights. I swam a km at The Vally Pools after a couple of half hearted attempts before I was employed., Sandra and I went and saw the Turtles' Movie on Saturday to relive my childhood, and Jeff, Kirra, Sandra and I went to see Sin City 2 last night. Richard, my old manager at GroundProbe, was back in Australia for a holiday from Japan, so I caught up with him last Tuesday, and a few other faces from my GroundProbe days. Reading more German every morning while eating mein Frühstück and speaking a lot more German with Sandra and Dandy. And I sewed my own button on my trousers on Tuesday night, and it's somehow still attached! Uummmmmm, I feel I'm just listening things now....like I said, this is harder to write when I'm stationary.

Tash and Rosie, in the studio!
Driving past the old apartment in Kangaroo Point

Just got off the phone with Dandy, and it's looking like River Fire Saturday, and Daisy Hill mountain biking on Sunday. And hopefully a new job starting Monday, so that'll give me more to write about in my next post.

But as promised from my last post.....

My new wallet! $10 K-Mart special!

Oh, and this is Rosie's electronic drum kit that we set up last month, I just forgot to put it in my last post
It's crazy to think that on 9th September it was 4 years since I left England on my first travelling experiences. So much done since then, I just only hope that I can get back to writing more exciting things for you to read (than this post and my last) in the near future, like before.

And I will just finish by saying...WINNING AT EMIRATES AND SECOND IN THE LEAGUE....WHAT THE...!!!!????!!!!!????!!!????!!!
